Wonderland in Dubai is the largest theme park in United Arab Emirates. It is a wonderful place filled with amazing rides and entertainment facilities and is known as one of the best theme parks in the region. The park is located alongside Dubai Creek Park near Al-Garhoud Bridge. It’s a mega theme park consisting of a number of rides and a world class water park of over 22 acres. It has ample free parking and easy access from the city. Since its opening in 1996 over 2 million visitors have visited this mega theme park.

Some of the major rides at the park include Spinning Coaster, Roto-Shake, Action Arm, Log Flume, Space Shot, Pirate Ship, Horror House and much more. The children’s rides section features rides such as Red Baron, Convoy, Mini Bumper Cars, Balloon Flight, Swing Chairs, Mini Pirate ship and much more. The 22 acre water park is a main attraction with a number of rides and activities. The Water Mist Show and the Water Cinema are top two features at the water park. The Sports Pool, Adult Activity Pool, Shoot the Rapid, Twister and Dragon Pool are also places of interest at the water park.

Wonderland is a great day out for the whole family. The park has 6 restaurants and snack shops besides the mobile refreshment carts strolling through the park. Mithu’s nest, Main Street Café, The Palm terrace and Jasmine terrace are the four fast food restaurants that offer great services and dining facilities. Apart from that, an Ice Cream Parlour and a Snack shop and Café offer great snacks and drinks for those who prefer a quick meal.

Currently, the largest indoor waterpark in the nation is the Kalahari Waterpark Resort in Wisconsin Dells. At 125,000 sq feet, their indoor waterpark is truly massive and contains the new FlowRider® which allows vacationers to boogie board or surf 365 days a year. The water park also features family raft riders, a lazy river, a children’s play area, an indoor wave pool and much more.

There are two other states that are jumping into the indoor water park resort industry and they are Ohio and Michigan. Ohio currently has 5 indoor waterpark resorts, three of which are spin-offs of resorts in Wisconsin Dells, WI from the Great Wolf Lodge and the Kalahari Resort. Michigan currently has 6 indoor water parks and also contains a spin-off of the Great Wolf Lodge. The Great Wolf lodge currently has 7 indoor waterpark resorts across the US.

This winter, when you are planning your next vacation take a look at the many indoor waterparks that are scattered across the US. You don’t need to travel south to enjoy warm weather and water activities. Wet ‘n Wild

First up on the list is the most popular and highly attractive Wet ‘n Wild. The name says it all, promising to bring out the water animal in you. Now, if going out to have crazy fun is not your style, perhaps tanning out at the wave pool or chilling at the Lazy River is your cup of tea. No matter what your taste, you will NOT be disappointed.

Wet ‘n Wild is known for its most famous ride, The Next Generation: The Black Hole, a two person capsule that plunges into the dark unknown and out into a splashing finish that is sure to have you screaming. Don’t get drowned out yet; take a stab at the Surf Lagoon Wave Pool. Four foot waves will roll over a span of the 17,000 square foot wave pool that will give you a taste of what Florida beaches are like… without our good friends the sharks of course! Lastly, get washed out in the Brain Wash. Loose your mind with another friend or three on a trip into insanity. Group therapy was hardly ever this much fun.

SeaWorld’s Aquatica

One of the most anticipated parks ever, Aquatica brings home a new theme to water parks: The South Sea Islands of New Zealand. Opened since April 2008, Aquatica is more than just your average water park. SeaWorld has merged their idea of interacting humans with aquatic life and built a water park around it, where you too can get wet.

Aquatica features a wide assortment of rides and attractions, all new to the general public. Let Dolphin Plunge turn you into the sea mammal you were born to be as you fly through 250 feet of clear tubes beneath the water. The Commerson’s dolphins are happy to accommodate you into their dwelling, even if only for the short time in which you are zooming through. Competing with Wet ‘n Wild’s Surf Lagoon Wave Pool, Aquatica has unleashed the twin wave pools named the Big Surf Shores & Cutback Cove. These two wave pools operate individually of one another to create two different experiences and to adjust to the styles of various guests. We can’t forget about the kiddies! Walkabout Waters is a water world, interactive playground just for the younglings. Kids will enjoy all the fun of being at the school or local park’s playgrounds, while adding all the fun and excitement of water and other various adventures Aquatica has to offer.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon & Blizzard Beach

Being the one who put Central Florida on the map for Theme Park fun, you know Disney has something to offer for its water loving residents and guests. Take your pick between two dynamically different water parks here from Disney; you’re sure to enjoy yourself and your family!

Typhoon Lagoon is the tropical getaway for anyone wanting fun in the sun Florida style. Breaking waves, saltwater snorkeling pool and gushing water surges are just some of the excitement you will find here.

Blizzard Beach is the northern mountain ski resort style. Bobsledding down the “snowy” slopes of Mt. Gushmore or plunging straight down Summit Plummet at up to 55 mph, you know its time to mix the great north with sunny Florida!

Imagine 30 million tones of water in the middle of the scorching desert, now add state of the art water slides and wave machines into the mix and then you get Wild Wadi water amusement park. The water park is designed with a distinctly Arabian feel and its name Wadi which means oasis in English aptly demonstrates this. The water park also has storyline running through its 30 rides which is definitely something novel as many other amusement parks are an ad hoc collection water slides. The theme of the park is a story woven around mythical Arabian characters and many of the rides interconnect in so that the story keeps on flowing.

The underlying theme of the park much is the story of Juha and his friend Sinbad, who were sailing in a ship and then mysteriously got blown off course in a storm and ended up in a beautiful lagoon. In addition to the exhilarating rides the park also operates numerous restaurants and shops that dish out delectable food and sell Wild Wadi collectibles.

Undoubtedly the star attraction of the park is the Jumeirah Sceirah which is the highest free fall water slide that is found outside of the United States. The Master Blaster rides that number eight in total are also a novel experience, they are up hill water slides where tourists are propelled up by powerful jets of water at speeds up to 80 km/h. There are also seven downward gravity rides where riders sit in rubber rings and spiral downwards at great speeds; these are known as the Dubai Rings.

Another interesting ride is Juha Dhow which is an interactive play structure with water canons, body slides and other exciting ware games. Juha’s journey is a lazy slow river like ride, while Breaker’s Bay is the largest wave pool in the Middle East.

When visiting Wild Wadi it would be prudent to remember that Thursday is special woman only day so make sure that you plan your trip appropriately. A hotel in Dubai is located almost next to the Wild Wadi complex and offers the same standards of service and class that have been associated with many well known Dubai hotels.
